God damn it was in bad shape - bottom bracket never been serviced in 30 years, headset bearings were fucked, front wheel bearings were fucked, rear shifter was broken, didn't hold gear in place neither in friction, nor in index mode, had to hold it with a thumb, front shifter was stuck and only moved enough to go one ring up, frame was chipped in all the places it wouldn't be chipped and kind of fine in all the places that get fucked by normal use so I believe it was used for rock throwing target practice, brake pads were put in so bad that all 4 of them had their spacers and cones in different arrangements.
I disassembled the bike, changed BB, pressed in a new headset, got aome new shifters, modified brake levers to accomodate new shifters, got some fenders because commuter, and cleaned up the frame, scrubbed the rust off and touched up all the chips with matching paint with a paintbrush. Had it's maiden voyage today it was fun and this will give me much fun in winter. Just need some new slicker tyres, because I'll be mainly using it on asphalt.
