>>2028880>You are correct since they asked for FOUR BILLION to construct the T line which would've ran from 96th St to Houston in SoHo, which is retarded because the last thing Manhattan needs is another Subway line.If the MTA could build all that for only $4 billion I'd take back every single bad thing I've ever said about them, but that's not happening.
Pic related is SAS Phase 2. This embarrassing little stub of subway and 3 stations is going to cost nearly $8 BILLION. If you actually measure it on Google Maps this is maybe 1.5 miles of actual new tunnels.
Meanwhile in the outer boroughs where we're drowning to death in car traffic, they're going to sacrifice a perfectly good RoW that could be used for a great subway extension (LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch) in favor of a stupid linear park that nobody asked for, they're going to half-ass the IBX by turning it into a light rail abomination, other things that could actually help, like a Utica Avenue Subway or a Cross-Bronx Subway line, or a direct connection to LGA Airport are all insane fever dreams. I hate the MTA so much it's unreal.
