The difference between wheels shuddering and shaking at speed in a fork or truing stand vs on the road is the 60-100kg extra load on them. I just don't think it's going to make any difference. Speed wobbles are not a result of an imbalanced wheel, they are a result of other factors and forces.
It's only anecdotal boomers saying "my wheels are totally smooth on descents now that I balanced them!" without any evidence or theory. So, dismissed as another meme like tying your spokes.
