Opened in 2004, the Athens tram network serves southern Athens, and the municipalities of Piraeus, Moschato, Kallithea, Nea Smyrni, Palaio Faliro, Alimos, Elliniko, Glyfada and Voula with 48 stops.
The network resembles an upside-down T, with a significant portion running by the coast of the Saronic Gulf. There are three lines (T3, T4, T5), with two lines serving each leg.
Connections to the Athens Metro includes Faliro (T3, T4) on M1, Neos Kosmos (T4, T5) and Sygrou-Fix (T4, T5) on M2, and Syntagma (T4, T5) on M2 and M3.
