>>1339048Correct. But don't block the streets, simply ban all non-business cars. Cabs, delivery vans, ambulances, cops, firefighters, tradesmen, city workers can still drive there for their work. One or two lanes per street are enough for that traffic, the rest is converted to bike paths, sidewalks or tram lines.
I've lived in several cities where that was the case, and it's pretty fucking comfy. Shockingly, business doesn't grind to a halt but thrives cause people actually like spending time walking in the city and shopping and it also attracts tourism.
