>>1580740It's the Wiener Lokalbahn, a line between Vienna and Baden. Passenger service is done by tram-sized vehicles, as in Vienna it runs on the urban network, but the outer section is legally a railway and always was running freight trains. Despite being classified as a railway, it has this short streetrunning section halfway along the line. Originally there were connections to the national network on both ends in Vienna and Baden, so freight trains serving local sidings never needed to use this section.
But with the reconstruction of Viennas central station a yard was also moved, so now since 2008 freight trains can only use the connection in Baden and have to pass through the streetrunning section to get to the Vienna end.
