>>1793854Yeah, I think you're right about the fenders. your pic is a bit of a scam company anyway, wheeling their bike into a bike trade show to take pictures with celebrities then claiming the celebs back their product. Their spoke fins are quite a good idea in theory though, oscillating to the yaw angle
I have to say I disagree with you on a few of these points, going full sonic mode is fun even if you get some looks, but I am quite a loner/outsider and don't really care which I realise isn't the norm. Skinsuit, aero knee sleeves and alien helmets are a little too extreme for me considering I like to pause on rides and pop into a shop, chat with someone or enjoy a view and sometimes it pays to not look like a total freak, but as for choosing aero components, who cares what some fusty riding group thinks or some plebes on the street. I rock a disc rear wheel, 55cm front rim, aggressive position and narrow bars and enjoy the notable ~2-4kmph (or more in ideal conditions) improvement for the same effort far more than I care about the odd quizzical or disapproving look from some snob. Occasionally people will ask me about the bike and most think it's cool and looks unusual in a good way, but have the same judgement concerns as you so wouldn't install, and some think it's not worth the marginal gains or assume it's way out of their price range (front rim was ~$150 from lightbicycle and rear disc is just a cover cutout from plastic).
(pic related isn't my bike)
