>>1716217>>1716231The "chemical process" is just C02 leaking due to the natural porosity of a tube/tire. Most inflators use a valve that only dispenses when depressed, others use triggers. Only get threaded cartridges as they won't blow off of an inflator but the cheap ones should be just as good as any other. 16 gram cartridges are enough to fill a 35-40 mm 700c tire at least once with a top-off in my experience.
