I've been trying to ascertain if you can kickbike uphill, and if so, at what kind of speed.
This is a video of a kickbike race up an 8.7km long hill. Elevation gain: 648m. Average grade: 7.4%. Max sustained grade: 13%. Max 100 meter grade: 18%.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFzGKPp69Tkhttps://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/gaisberg-guggenthalThe video poster links to a spreadsheet of the contestant's times in one of the comments. Average speed for the contestants in the video was 14km/h - 8.7mph. The guy in the video averaged 11.7km/h - 7.27mph.
So it seems that if you are fit you can indeed kickbike uphill faster than you can walk. The hills around me are nothing compared to the hill in that video.
