OK, story time
Ive been working on my own bikes for about 10 years, a matter of pride more than money - there is smth cucky in lettting other people do work you can do yourself.
Since I was NEETing at the moment, Ive decided to apply for the work at bike shop. Supreme lack of organisation:
>no spoke tension measuring tool - we dont have it since the main mechanic can feel it by hand>lack of the most basic cheap tools like torx keys etc.>no antisieze paste - they put basic grease on aluminium trough axles during assembly of a new bike and it got siezed on the threadsall this shit wasnt done by some noob college poseur but by experience sheldon type mechanics, that being said I learned A LOT in that short period, from "good enough" home mechanic level to proper execution. I would fire you from my shop immediately with your attitude.I talked to people at my LBS who mocked people that give basic questions like "I want a bike, give me smth to buy", I dont see how is that a bad question from a customer. Most of LBS people are total autists.
