The whole point on the UCI making dumb rules is to keep bicycles looking like something the average person considers a bicycle, even if the bike is 10 grand. If there were no rules and everyone was riding around in hyper aero of recumbent bullshit that looked nothing like a bike the fans on the sport and the public wouldn't think of it as a sport with a long history but a retarded joke like recumbent racing is now.
