>>1226376Nonsense. It's one of the best and most obvious tells for a lower quality old road bike. There are exceptions, but generally, mid & high end bikes didn't have them. I don't really see the point in bothering with low end old bikes when mid range ones are so cheap anyway and you're likely to spend money fixing up whatever you buy and just run into extra headaches with something shitty.
