Unlike many logging railroads of the period, the Little River was built as a standard gauge line so it's cars could run on the main line and main line passenger cars could run on the Little River. But like most logging railroads, the Little River used the bear minimum to function with the lightest rail possible and minimum ballast. Even a light mainline locomotive would be too heavy. The 110 weighs just 58 tons and her center drivers are flangeless which allow her to take insanely tight curves that normally only a small 0-4-0 could take. By comparison, a Pennsylvania Railroad K4 4-6-2 was a 212 ton beast.
