Meanwhile, the Victorian budget's come out, and there's plenty for transport infra. Of note is money for planning the Cranbourne line duplication, Airport Rail, SRL and the Western rail plan - looks like Melton and Wyndham Vale are finally getting sparked. Sadly North-East link and the West Gate Tunnel are still going ahead. Although I have to point out that trams have been largely forgotten - apart from a few more E-class trams I can't find anything for the Caulfield-Rowville or Fisherman's Bend trams.
Of course, we would have more if Labor won the federal election, or the federal LNP weren't so stingy with infrastructure funding. That $3bn for East-West Link or the $2bn for Geelong "HSR" would be very useful towards Metro 2 or SRL.
