Construction to extend Line 1 west towards Kelenföld vasútállomás (railway station) from Etele út/Fehérvári út has begun.
The extension will be 1.7km and travel along Etele út and consists of three stops.Stops will be at Bikas Park/Tétényi út (connection to metro line 4), and Bártfai út. Kelenföld vasútállomás will be built as a four-track terminal and will have a connection to metro line 4, tram lines 19 and 49, bus routes, and intercity trains.
Expected completion is early 2019.
