>>1944318The weight could definietly be reduced, but I'm a paranoid fuck who would rather roll around with excessive supplies than stock up just before the night.
As for sleeping arrangements, being a cheapskate I stayed away from hotels and mostly crashed in people's gardens along the way. There is this cool website (
1nitetent.com), where people offer their gardens for a one night stay, usually with running water and electricity, totally free. The only downside is that it's only popular in Germany, so for the Czech section I gave in and blew 30$ for signing up to
warmshowers.com only to be totally ignored, and resorting to campsites instead. I did camp wild once but despite the promising Polish wildcamping database it was a disaster. I did inspect the route to see what's available beforehand, but mostly it was improvised on the spot, planning a day or two ahead.
Here's my hobo-tier enclave on a German campsite. Most of the time I didn't feel like wasting time setting up the tent as I often would arrive late and had to set off early in the morning, so I just asked if I could use some floor, much more efficient.
