Also, this is problematic because it's still a diesel engine. A true #woke train would be a no-emissions train like Wabtec's FLXdrive or BNSF 1205. This is relevant to racial justice considering how California's CARB now cites environmental justice laws as a justification for their (supposed) 2030 mechanical diesel truck ban. UP has not had to deal with CARB in this way, yet, and I suspect their tune will change when they do. This fight is much more likely to happen now that Joe Biden is President.

I don't endorse such an idea, I'm just saying that if UP wanted to fully commit to this as a political project (which it is) then there's really only one place it really needs to be.
