I guess compared with some of the legendary fuckups out there it's not too bad. Lots of high-density mixed use neighbourhoods, mostly around the old cores of the small towns which were eventually absorbed by the city. Some of the towns further out are more burb-like.
Problem I see is that despite high density there's still too much reliance on automobiles. And even though public transit is at capacity it's expansion has always been slowed by the insistence on subways over tram lines.
Also what's with urban planners hating on trams? Is this a regional thing around here or is this a common fad everywhere?
