So I want to start bikepacking and I was about to spend almost all my money on a 1500€ ($1800) brand new rigid bicycle designed to do just that. I changed my mind and decided that I'm going to buy a dirt cheap 90's rigid mtb instead and start with that.
I can find a lot of these under $100 where I live (France) right now, even with Corona. Pic attached is 78$.

I am beginner when it comes to bike though so could you guys please tell me what I should be looking for and what I should avoid? Most of my riding will be on gravel roads, dirt paths and some single track (yeah I know, it's gonna be fun with that rigid fork). There will be climbs. Should I look for a specific geometry, knowing that I'm going to spend long day on the saddle on such terrain? Or would any of these do the job just fine? I'm aiming for multi-day and even multi-week trips once I'll be up to the task (I'm probably gonna upgrade the saddle with a Brooks that will cost as much as the bike lol).
Thanks!
