Zoning laws in America are the issue getting in the way of walkability and affordability, as are Left wing Democrat NIMBYs who want open borders and abolishment of police except in their own urban and small town downtwon neighborhoods, then they are on par with Trump supporters, yet they strangely voted for Biden..

The solution is gentle upzoning of the ‘burbs. It’s nice housing, makes nice neighborhoods, and it’s less expensive to build than apartment blocks with parking decks.

Nah there's a sensible solution.

Also, the new apartments in America are pretty big (over 90 m^2 for a 1-br) and usually have a patio.
The older ones from the 70s are a lot cheaper and you can get a huge renovated one for cheap.

Bugmen want "middle housing'" which is inbetween of luxury apartments and McMansions.
