Do you really think we need 1 controller for every 10 pilots?!!???! That is absurd even for commercial aviation. For shit like quadcopter air taxis, that would revolutionize transportation and allow communities to grow much faster with less infrastructure, the automated system would have less security threats because a single quadcopter isn't going to kill hundreds of people, although that wont stop bureaucracy from using security as an excuse. But the point is that we can rely on automation and if the system experiences a temporary outage we can have backups or just halt traffic temporarily for a rare problem.

There should be different security levels for different airlines and you can pick what level of risk you are personally comfortable with. I like to live in the fast lane because im not a cuck so i would just walk aboard the aircraft without any checks. You would want a full body cavity search because you like it in the butt butt! ;)
And you might say that airplanes are dangerous to people outside the aircraft but that's just an argument for smaller point to point aircraft and also not having a government that purposefully floods their air defense network with false targets during a terrorist attack:
