Even more strangely, why do cheap cycling GPS units exist? I feel like the rudimentary old school non -GPS ones might have a niche, but who's that invested to spend money on a piece of dedicated cycling electronics but not enough to buy the standard level units? The cheapest color GPS will be about the same as a entry level power meter which will add much more to your experience from what I think.
