I arrived in Toba after ~40km along the Old Ise "Highway" which was actually just a winding single lane road through the rural farmland a little ways off the coast. I figure it must predate automobiles because it was barely wide enough for a single sedan. If you look closely in this shot you can see Toba's ornate castle up on the hill.
