too bad i didn't take a before pic... the scuffed area that was visible from the side looked the worst as if it was a deep scratch that had gone into the fibers but it cleared up in literally just a few seconds with menzerna super finish plus 3800 on a microfiber cloth. the very bottom took more elbow grease to go from completely matte to mostly glossy with fine scuff marks. now on close inspection with my phone flashlight i see there are a couple of other spots on the bottom of the stem with these fine scuff marks but it won't be a problem to polish the whole stem and wax it.
