I remember feeling like it was slipping like 10 years ago, and when I actually brought the bikes down a month ago to use them again the derailleur exploded and lost one of the cogs due to a loose screw. I bought a new 7 speed derailleur but it didn't seem to work right and I am going to return it.
Can I just do a 1x10 or whatever meme and just get all new gearing for like $100 and delete front derailleur and get the new rear? It's a mid 2000's trek 820
