I was doing ground reference maneuvers with a student on a checkride at 800 ft in the middle of nowhere when the exhaust valve on the #3 cylinder stuck. Heavy vibrations and full power was just enough to not sink, but not enough to return to an airport. Miraculously it unstuck itself after a bit and regained power. Pic related was my face when I stared at my shaking instruments wondering what the fuck was goin on.
Unforecasted IMC and snow over the mountains at night without anti ice was a bit uncomfortable too. I could see lights 50 miles in the distance through a hole straight ahead, and every time the strobes flashes I’d see a wall of precipitation around me.
