its close so this shall be in the margins
bikes built around a 1.75 inch size are rare
the 1.9 to 2.1 inch clearance bikes are common
and most old mtb have a huge gap between the seat post and rear wheel
>vertical dropoutsthe semi vertical ones dont have much adjustment but its better than the pure drop outs I guess
some of the thicker and higher quality semi-horizontal dropouts have holes for the addition of screws to set the axle depth
>high bottom bracketiirc it makes the bike less responsive
but some criterium bikes have the BB higher for pedal clearance during cornering (along with some novel pedals like PD-DE10)
MTB BB height is for the break over angles I guess
>also the seat needs to be higher so you get sick slammed stem gains>brake installationthere are some medium profile canter levers with smooth posts that have a huge range of adjustment
>tank like handling4 sure
its part sleepy geometry, esp the long reach stems enhance the feeling of being an arrow
but also the weight anything MTB and steel 13 kg or less is a good find, they became very over built
