Hornbeck uses mates to fill the DPO position on the mud boats and MPSVs
I wouldn’t recommend trying to hire on as a mate because they’ll give you the runaround and hire you as an AB and make BS promises about how you’ll make it into a mates billet after your first hitch. Instead you’ll usually have to wait about a year.
