I like Paramounts a lot, like several other classic bike marques, for largely arbitrary reasons and because i really love my gunnar (which i chanced upon used for cheap). I'd like to own a paramount one day. I think they're special and their history is interesting, as is US framebuilding in general. I'd love a serotta or a landshark too. I'm not even American. I like Italian bikes as much.
I really don't understand where the hate comes from. Even if you did find some guy who thought old Paramounts where the 'best', what the fuck is even wrong with that? People are autistic fans of all kinds of stuff. It doesn't bother anyone. Old bikes are charming and it's good people care about them.
