The MTB guys refuse to call it a MTB, the motorcyclists/enduro guys refuse to call it a motorcycle. The law doesn't know how to classify it, the legality on public roads is uncertain, and there is nowhere to ride the thing without being told to piss off. Show up on a MTB trail and you'll be told to bugger off to an ORV park or motorized trail, show up at a motorized trail and you'll be told to bugger off to a MTB trail.
