I noticed today that my bike chain and cassette had some rust on them (see pic but it was worse before I rode to the shops).
Part of me thinks it's the cold weather that's somehow to blame. Anyway how can I prevent this? I could put on more lube but people always advise against too much lube because it attracts dirt which gunks up / wears down the components. This chain is only a few months old, and I haven't applied any lube over the grease that came from the factory, because that's the general recommendation it seems, and was probably the recommendation from KMC themselves I think too.
I saw online a recommendation that you should get rust off with a wire brush and some WD40, but yeah I'm wondering how best to prevent it in the first place? Thanks if anyone's got tips.
