>>1147301>>1147413The initial climb out on Quimby Rd was rough (the first peak on the profile). About 3 miles long; 9% for the first two miles and a solid 13% for the last mile. 2nd climb was a fast, middle-of-the-cassette climb. 3rd climb wasn't bad in terms of grade, but it sure was a slog.
It was 37F at the peak. I forgot my full-finger gloves; so descending was cold. My fingers were definitely numb by the Kincaid junction.
The Kincaid out-and-back - the section between 23.5 and 35.5 miles - doesn't look like a lot of elevation, but it was rougher than it looks. I hadn't done a good job of planning nutrition (eat a good breakfast, folks) and didn't have a lot left in the tank.
The descent is great - fast and not too technical.
Overall, super scenic and not a lot of traffic. Highly recommended if you're in the SF Bay area.
