This didn't happen because the modified subway cars of Saltsjöbanan have greater capacity than Tvärbanan's CAF Urbos. This meant needing more train departures to reach the same capacity, ultimately meaning more tracks as Saltsjöbanan is mostly single-track.
However, more departures would also mean more ridership, requiring even more trains and tracks. So it got swept under a rug.
