>>1772869Paying a shop for routine maintenance is idiotic. 80% of bike repair jobs can be done with hex keys and screwdrivers, and half the rest can be done with special tools that still cost way less than paying a shop $200 to fiddle with your barrel adjusters for 30 seconds. Rarely a job will need some more expensive tools that you'd probably only ever use once and in those cases yeah take it to the shop instead of buying them.
If you think you're too incompetent for such things just spend a couple hours on the Park Tool channel watching some random videos to see how piss easy 99% of bike repair tasks are when you have the right tools and someone telling you what to do.
