I've been eyeing some bikes and a gravel-ish/commuter type caught my eye cause it seems very versatile, pic related, but it's about $1000. I can just imagine the hate I'd feel if it got stolen. The other is a low gear count city bike with a step-through frame which I'd probably use for an e-bike conversion later on. I'm not sure about that one cause I live in a fairly hilly area and I'd like to use the bike for fitness too. What are some things you should look out for when buying a bike that most determines the 'is it for you' factor?
