>>1106673From what I've read, Maenofferen's steam locomotives were scrapped or sold off to heritage railways decades ago, but a few of their electric and diesel locomotives stayed in service well into the 80s and are still at the quarry abandoned along a lot with their rubbish and slate wagons (pic related).
Suppose the owners of the quarry didn't mind an autistic American bringing in a couple of pickup trucks and making off with some of their old pieces of junk (let's say one diesel locomotive and six wagons) that wasn't deemed worth its weight in scrap, I could obtain the blueprints for the locomotive and fabricate replacements for the worn out and rusted parts, get the train back up and running, and give it to a museum run as an exhibit (i.e. maybe running it around the perimeter of the building periodically and children can try to chase after it).
