the shifts are ridiculously snappy and light and the mechs are bombproof, i've had a few and they never seem to have slop in them. I think the rd is really good looking.
Cassette hubs. Metal brake levers.
it's pretty common too. WAY more common than 7spd tricolour/da.
mt62 deore of the same range was similiarily good. Also had a cassette hub and indexed thumbies with a friction switch. Has a more classic look even. Deore is after all coming off the back of being a road touring bike groupset.
