I've been buying bits of OO9 stuff for the past year with the plans to make a small OO9 layout. I was considering buying a Skarloey since I've had a Talyllyn conversion kit hanging around in a drawer forever, and it's about $100 so it's not as expensive as other RTR OO9 locos are. Now, after I rip off it's face and put a proper smokebox in there I want to paint it black. I've never painted a model loco before so what's the best way to go about this? Any recommended types of paints? Airbrush, or dry brush? etc.
