>>1956028Pic related is one of the historic streetcars. She was built in 1951 at the St. Louis Car Company as part of an order of 50 P.C.C. streetcars—the last such order in North America. After their body shells were built, they were sent to Canada for final assembly. She joined a fleet of 539 street cars known as “Red Rockets” that served Toronto. The car served for the next 40 years, receiving several updates and even an extensive rebuild in 1993, but scheduled for scrap in 1995. She was purchased by MATA and brought to Dallas in 1995 and began service in the MATA fleet in early 2019.
