>>1905856Honestly man I don’t think they’re that ugly. Yes the genericness is a slight issue but sprawled 90s ‘burbs are way more generic and when you examine how functional the 5 over 1s are, it’s a huge improvement over the status quo.
People don’t complain about generic cookie-cutter subdivisions because they’re way out on the side of the highway where you don’t see them.
5 over 1s are in the most conspicuous parts of town.
The 5 over 1 is modeled after classic European city design.
Of course I’d rather see ormate stone buildings than generic 5 over 1s but I’m not gonna let perfection be the enemy of progress.
