No shit, I have this same thought, but every time I have to operate a scissor lift (like pic rel) il be up in the air, working on whatever, and the wind will pick up and the tilt alarms will all start going off - so I turn it off because fuck that noise. But then I start thinking "if this thing starts to fall, what do I do? Do I hang on to the rafters/building/gantry I'm working on and just hang there until somebody can bring a ladder or a double decker bus or something for me to drop onto? Or do I ride the scissor lift down and jump off at the last minute?"
Its actually best not to think about that. I fucking hate working at heights.
