Couldn't sleep by 5am so I just got up and started polishing this turd, literally. When I first got it, there was so much crusty looking brown shit that I couldn't get off but now it's actually shiny. I am waiting on tires, and am probably going to get a 12-25 cassette or something as well as go for a 48t big ring if I can, all the chainrings look pretty fucking shot, but I don't have any lying around in this bcd nor do I want to spend that much money right now. I also swapped the shifters to sl-1055 levers because I am a dumbass and didn't realize my bar ends weren't orientated properly. Probably not going to change them back because these index fine, despite being 7 speed on an 8 speed cassette. They do look a bit out of place, though. Regardless, I think anything but some kind of integrated shifter isn't the best off road, and I'm going to be more apt to ride this with tires that are good enough off road and pleasant on road. I just need to get another front rack, probably going to get the surly one since it's 120 on sale, no tax and free ship.

>>1978525it's really not worth it imo, i had bought a couple to flip which i ended up just either kept, sold at way too big of a loss, or just used for parts bikes.. it's kind of hard to even break even if you, like the other anon says, actually replace consumables.
