and i have some several valuable/collectable(ish) steel bikes and i have zero issues with scratching the paint on them or damaging them or totalling them even infact it gives me a kind of perverse pleasure it's like worrying about fucking a girl because you might use her up for the next man it's just a bike they want to get messed up and used
you could get one of these? Iunno how good they work re fork chatter. CX guys used to use them pretty commonly though for slammed stem situations
