I'm simply trying to have some discussion on the topic as most commentary I see about it resorts to simplistic hypotheticals with flawed assumptions and appeals to "common sense." I never even challenged that it was regressive, just questioned exactly how regressive it was. And I was mostly interested if anyone knew of any substantial research into the subject.
