Retard here, learning absolute basics of bikes. Bought a used Dawes SST and it's great for my needs apart from broken spokes. Bought it with broken spoke, paid LBS $10 to true wheel and replace spoke. 10 miles later another spoke broke. Reviews for Alex R500 rims say they're dogshit and spokes break often.
Do I pay them to fix it again or buy new rims? Did they do a bad job and I should learn to fix it? I don't have the budget for new tires, but it would be dumb to keep replacing spokes. Never had a broken spoke on ~2500 miles on other bikes. I'm about 200lbs, maybe 225 tops when I'm carrying stuff.
Real retard question is whether there's any possibility of swapping the rims/tires from this other bike I was going to sell. It has Campagnolo Montreal 76 rear and Mavic Open Pro in the front, but I know a little to realize Dawes is thru axle and this single speed conversion is quick release, different hubs and everything. I'm reading about this stuff but know next to nothing. Thanks for reading
