What percentage of a bike's cost should the bike lock be?
I bought a second hand bike for $300 and will only be leaving it locked for 30 mins outside the grocery store tops. Grocery store is in a nice neighborhood. My worry is that since it's a road bike that currently retails $900 someone will think it is expensive and steal it even though it is old and cheap. Would a $30 U-lock make sense? I could also go for the U-lock plus cable lock strategy. Thanks
