I consider those robot arm trash trucks to be complete ... well, trash. Surely it is much easier to have the truck manned by two with a second person positioning the garbage can for the pickup, than to have to clear the entire neighborhood of street parked cars on every garbage pickup day and placing the cans precisely at the side of the road so the driver can fumble around with his robot controls to pick them up. Nevermind those Youtube videos where robot arms keep losing grip on the cans and spilling garbage all over the road or dropping the entire bin into the trash compacter.
