Ion Rapid Transit in Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion_rapid_transit>could have been good, but they built all the downtown sections on the streets making it go slow>bombardier delivered the trains something like 2-3 years late...after they had finished building the system and stations. it all just sat dormant>uses a proprietary payment system instead of presto which is commonly accepted in other nearby major ontario cities like toronto or even ottawa>the trains started to fall apart, so they all had to be sent back to bombardier so they could reweld things>people drive into it non-stop, since it runs on the roads with no protection besides a 5 inch curb. there have been something like 60 accidents, 2 deaths and 1 child seriously maimed>it planned to go to the 3rd city in the region (btw its one region with 3 cities that are physically just 1) and the cost to do that was pretty cheap. now the price for this project equates to 8 dollars for every person in north america due to insane inflation costs due to the gay response to the pandemic>it's full of indian students now and they all smell like body odour, curry spice and always seem to be on the phone with someone in hindi or whatever the fuck except using bluetooth so you hear them shouting everythingFeels bad man. North America can't do transit right.
