If you find you just like doing a little of a particular style, it's all you'll need, and will last decades with minor maintenance. If you find one particular area of riding to be your jam, then you should get a bike built towards that.

There's work in fitting them but the tools are reasonably cheap (free if you live near a co-op), and tutorials on how to do it are widely available.
