>>1417840Since you mention "700C" and "upright" I'm gonna assume they're regular road brake calipers and flat bar brake levers. Since you also mention "Radius", I'm gonna assume they're V-brake levers, and thus, the pull is way too long for road calipers.
For the calipers, just make sure they're the correct length for your frameset, and that they're dual-pivot (as opposed to cheapass single pivot ones, with the nut in the middle). For the levers, I'd suggest getting interrupter levers (AKA in-line or cross levers, pictured), they have very short pull but also require more force.
Also, get new pads. They make a huge difference.
Also, Brasso is not for cleaning.
